Learn how to make paper from invasive plants! Local artist Britt Garth will start with an overview of the extensive process, detailing every step from finding and harvesting plants to drying finished sheets of paper. Participants will be able to make their own sheets of paper in this hands-on workshop. In the spirit of conservation, the paper from this workshop is made from an invasive species of plants growing rampant in Connecticut. Be sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet and messy!
Note: This workshop is open to adults only.
$45 for Members; $55 for Non-Members. Registration is required.
No refunds unless the program is cancelled by the Fairfield Museum.
Britt Garth is a self-taught independent artist who has been studying the ways of making art with natural materials for the last 6 years, focusing specifically on invasive plants and noxious weeds. They teach similar workshops in New Haven and Fairfield Counties, offer online courses, and have been invited to demonstrate their craft at other arts and maker events.
