In the 1950s, just about every major city had a signature department store. In Connecticut, G. Fox & Co. in Hartford was a landmark, branding itself as “the center of Connecticut living since 1847.” Join the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History presentation to travel back in time to Fox’s heyday, as we go from floor to floor to recall the various departments. In honor of Jewish American Heritage Month, discover the story of Beatrice Fox Auerbach, the remarkable woman who made every visit to Fox’s special. Then, explore our special exhibition Dressed to Impress.

Free with Museum admission. Snacks and refreshments provided.
