The glass terrarium started as a tool for studying plants, known as the Wardian case. In the 1800s, terrariums were used to transport and showcase rare and exotic plants from all around the world.
Using inspiration from the new exhibition Pioneering Conservation: From Mabel Osgood Wright to Today, spend a fun evening out with friends or enjoy a solo creative adventure. Stop by anytime between 4 and 6 pm to create a mini terrarium featuring an air plant. Enjoy light refreshments or bring your own food and drinks for a picnic on the Museum Commons. In case of inclement weather, event will take place inside the Fairfield Museum.
All supplies provided. This event is open to adults aged 21 and older
