Family Fun at the Fairfield Museum

The Museum offers a range of programs for families with young children to experience history together. Through experimentation and fun hands-on activities, families will play, explore the galleries, make art, and build a deeper understanding of their roles in our community.

Hands-on Workshops

The Museum offers hands-on experiences during school breaks and on select weekends. Families can enjoy art-making and crafts in addition to exploring special exhibitions.

Open Play at the Victorian Cottage

The Victorian Cottage is our early childhood education space designed for kids to create, explore, and play. The Victorian Cottage is open seasonally and on select dates throughout the year. Learn more about the historic properties and the Museum Commons.

Storytimes & Singalongs

The Museum offers storytimes in partnership with the Fairfield Public Library. Join our mailing list or check our events calendar for upcoming dates.

Community Days

Summer Camps

Designed for kids ages 7-12, our camps bring history to life through art-making, gallery exploration, outdoor play on the Museum Commons, and many more hands-on activities. Each week features a different theme inspired by the Museum’s rich collections and exhibitions. Whether your child has an interest in archaeology, history, or the arts, you’ll be sure to find a program that’s right for them.
